An exciting part of growing up is that moment when you’re old enough to wear makeup for the first time. Many people like to use makeup to enhance their appearance and look their very best but there are other ways to look great without the use of makeup. Working with what mother nature and looking natural and fresh starts with taking care of your health and skin along with exercising regularly. Here are 3 ways to look your very best even without makeup.
- Take Care of Your Skin – Good skin care starts with a daily cleansing to help keep skin free of blemishes and looking it’s best. For skin that is oily cleansing twice a day once in the morning and again at night for best results. If skin is normal, dry or sensitive once a day before bed is all that’s needed to clean facial skin. Start by choosing a cleanser that’s designed for your skin type, apply with clean hands or a clean washcloth then gently massage onto the skin. Wash using circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes, rinse with warm water then gently pat dry with a towel.
- Apply Toner – For those with oily skin applying a toner on freshly washed skin will keep skin looking fresh longer. First soak a cotton ball or makeup pad with toner and apply to all areas avoiding the eyes. Toner could result in drying out the skin for those with normal, dry or sensitive skin and should be avoided.
- Exfoliate – Exfoliating once or twice a week helps to remove dead skin cells and reveals fresh skin underneath. The number of times a week will depend upon your skin type and remember exfoliation involves scrubbing and can be harsh on the skin. After cleansing skin as usual gently massage the facial scrub into the chin, cheeks and forehead. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and gently pat to dry. Normal to oily skin can be exfoliated 2 times a week, with dry to sensitive skin types once a week is best.
